RTP AMENDMENT 3

MAG MPO is inviting the public to provide feedback on the draft of Amendment #3 to the 2023-2050 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), also known as TransPlan50, and the Air Quality Conformity Report draft. The public comment period for the Amendment #3 projects is running from October 13 to November 12, 2025.

What is the Regional Transportation Plan?
The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is the regional long-term strategy for our Region's future transportation system from now to 2050. MAG develops the plan with transportation partners, local communities, organizations, stakeholders, and residents.

What is the Public Comment Period For?
Every four years, MAG prepares and adopts an RTP. MAG adopted the current TransPlan50 in June 2023. While the RTP receives considerable review before being formally adopted, circumstances may warrant a change after its initial adoption, including funding availability, changing local and state needs, the outcomes of environmental analyses and other planning studies, or updated timelines on the development of projects.

Amendment #3 updates several roadway projects developed with transportation partners and local communities across Utah County. The public comment period focuses on projects classified as Level 3 amendments under MAG's amendment process, including changes to I-15 in the Payson/Santaquin area. Public comments can be made using the map provided. After the comment period, these projects will be presented to the MPO board for approval in November.

Separately, the MPO director has approved two Level 1 projects, as per MAG's process. These projects, located on Lindon 400 W and Spanish Fork 300 E, are listed for public awareness and are not part of the current public comment period.

Air Quality Report

The Regional Transportation Plan must adhere to federal air quality requirements. The conformity report demonstrates how the proposed amendments meet standards.

Level 1 Amendment Report

Level 1 Amendments are approved adminstraivley and not part of the public comment period. The report details the approved Level One projects, Lindon 400 West and Spanish Fork 300 East, signed by the MPO director.
