Emily Christensen

Emily Christensen is a gerontologist and board-certified music therapist who has been working with older adults since 2009. Emily is the Arts and Aging Coordinator for Jewish Family Service, where she administers arts-based wellness programs, directs the Gleeful Choir (a chorus for dementia care-partners), and coordinates the Utah Creative Aging Coalition. Emily is also the owner of Crescendo Music Therapy, a music therapy service provider for hospice agencies across Utah. Emily completed her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Utah State University and her master’s degree in Gerontology from the University of Utah. On a personal note, both of Emily’s parents lived with dementia diagnoses, allowing her to experience the dementia journey from many different perspectives.
