TAG - Technical Assistance to Governments Program

Technical assistance is available to local governments throughout Utah, Summit, and Wasatch Counties for plans and studies that proactively address growth related challenges.  Competitive projects integrate transportation and land use in a meaningful way and align with the region's long-range plans:  Wasatch Choice Vision and TransPlan50.  

Available Funding

  • Up to $1,000,000 will be made available annually depending on number and quality of applications received.
  • Assistance is provided in the form of consultant services procured by MAG on behalf of the local government.

TAG Cycle III

American ForkPoly-Centric City Center Plan - Six activity nodes in southwest American Fork identified in the city's TAG Cycle II-funded General Plan Update will be evaluated individually and collectively as a disaggregated city center connected by a robust network of multimodal mobility options. 
TAG Award: $235,000.  Local Match $38,000.  Total Project Budget: $273,000.  
Utah CountyA Comprehensive Update of the Utah County General Plan; A New Strategic Plan for Utah County; and Utah County Transportation Master Plan - The County’s core planning documents will be developed concurrently for efficiency and consistency, and to support coordinated land use and transportation decision making.
TAG Award: $175,000.  Local Match: $175,000.  Total Project Budget: $350,000.  
Pleasant GrovePG Downtown Revitalization Assessment & Stakeholder Engagement Project - To enhance livability and create a more vibrant Downtown, the city will assess opportunities for better land utilization, work with property owners to identify context-appropriate development strategies, and improve connections to surrounding trip destinations and transit services. 
TAG Award: $125,000.  Local Match: $9,500.  Total Project Budget: $134,500. 
Charleston, Henefer, Daniel, and Hideout    General Plan Updates - A single consultant will be selected to assist three small towns in updating their General Plans, and to expand Hideout City’s General Plan to include recently annexed lands. 
TAG Award: $165,000. Local Match: $45,000. Total Project Budget: $210,000.
